‘TAYLOR SWIFT VS. SCOOTER BRAUN' DOCUSERIES COMING TO DISCOVERY+ IN U.K.

The long-running feud between Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun is set to be explored in a new docuseries commissioned by Warner Bros. Discovery U.K. and Ireland.

Tentatively titled "Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun: Bad Blood," the two-part documentary is part of WBD U.K.'s "vs" series, which includes "Johnny vs. Amber," about the legal battle between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, and "Kim vs. Kanye: The Divorce," about Kim Kardashian's separation from Kanye West. Optomen TV, an All3Media company, will produce.

The doc will focus on the fallout between Swift and Braun after the music mogul purchased the rights to Swift's first six albums in a $300 million deal in June 2019.

"True to the ‘vs' format, the two episodes will examine the opposing sides of the argument; one exploring Swift's side that the sale was conducted without consulting her and that she has since been blocked from buying back her masters, and the other examining Braun's allegations that Swift refused to negotiate and instead incited a public feud by pitting her fan base against him," the logline reads.

As well as giving viewers a comprehensive masterclass on music rights, the series will also explore gender dynamics in the music industry and power of fandom. Among those participating in the series will be legal experts, journalists and insiders from both Swift and Braun's camps, who will put forward arguments for and against both parties.

The documentary is set to air in the U.K. and Ireland on Discovery+ in June.

"Taylor Swift's dispute with Scooter Braun over the ownership of her music exploded into the mainstream, taking contract law from boardroom to social media and into public interest," said Charlotte Reid, VP of commissioning for WBD U.K.'s networks and streaming. "It's a high-profile, high-interest story that opened debate on fandom and dominated headlines, one which will resonate with our viewers who are highly engaged with access-led documentaries like ‘vs', which continues to be a popular format on Discovery+."

Matt Reid will executive produce "Taylor Swift vs Scooter Braun: Bad Blood" for Warner Bros. Discovery in the U.K. and Ireland, while Nick Hornby and Sarah Eglin exec produce for Optomen TV.
