ANDREW MCCARTHY, FAYE DUNAWAY AND HARVEY KEITEL TO STAR IN JONATHAN BAKER'S SUPERNATURAL LOVE STORY ‘FATE'

Andrew McCarthy, Faye Dunaway and Harvey Keitel have been tapped to lead the cast of Jonathan Baker's supernatural love story "Fate," which begins shooting later this month for Baker Entertainment in Vancouver.

Baker's previous credits include Gina Gershon and Nicolas Cage starrer "Inconceivable" as director and "Survive the Night," "Force of Nature" and "American Traitor: The Trial of Axis Sally" as producer.

Dunaway recently announced that her documentary "Faye" will premiere during the Classics section of this year's Cannes Film Festival. "Faye" chronicles the her life and features candid discussions about her triumphs and challenges throughout her career. A best actress Oscar winner for "Network," Dunaway was Oscar-nominated for "Bonnie and Clyde" and "Chinatown" in addition to memorable roles in dozens of films including "The Towering Inferno," "Three Days of the Condor" and "Mommie Dearest."

Keitel has starred in "Reservoir Dogs," "Taxi Driver," "Mean Streets," "Pulp Fiction" and "Thelma and Louise." Most recently, he appeared in the Peacock drama series "The Tattooist of Auschwitz."

McCarthy is known for his work in movies including "Pretty in Pink" and "Weekend at Bernie's," and series such as "Orange is the New Black" and "The Blacklist." His new documentary "Brats" will air on Hulu this year.

McCarthy's role in "Less than Zero" was one of the inspirations for Baker's new film, according to the director, which is described as a "portrait of an artist at the height of his powers." Baker said, "Kristoff is a reflection on Pablo Picasso's penchant for sucking life out of muses."

Meanwhile, the film's fictional Vista Hotel was by the Los Angeles movie theater that director Quentin Tarantino reopened in 2023.

Baker serves as director as well as producer. Highland Film Group is selling international rights to the film at Cannes.
